About the role

The Engineer/ Representative - Technical Services supports customer Technical Services requirements including a strong emphasis on Product Stewardship, delivery of measurable value to customers and sustainable revenue to Orica.

What you will be doing

Develop strong working relationship with customer base from Shotfirer and D&B Engineer up to Foreman/Supt and Mine Manager.

 

Good knowledge of key accounts and personnel.

 

Analyse data from blast measurements and assess performance against a baseline.

 

Manage basic product/service implementation projects.

 

Up to date with latest products and technology and able to assist cross functional teams with opportunities across customer base to demonstrate

 effectiveness.

 

Management of product demonstrations and product roll outs or demonstrations at multiple sites.

 

Preparation of weekly / monthly blasting schedules at a customer mine site.

 

Preparation of differentiation and value offerings of continuous improvement project proposals <$500kpa or local/district proposals.

 

Perform basic value calculations using standard templates and present cost/benefit analysis to customer.

 

Identify and manage projects which deliver defined commercial outcomes for Orica and the customer.

 

Understand the commercial drivers of contracts and operate within the level of this responsibility.

 

Manage own costs within budget and seek application of new technologies to improve customer productivity where possible.

What you will bring

3 - 5 years Blasting experience

 

Will have good blasting knowledge and a well developed understanding of mining processes and key drivers.

 

Logical progression from Blasting Engineer.

 

1-3 years’ experience within Orica or similar, in either drill and blast execution, or management and be competent with general D&B design systems

and processes on customer mine sites.

 

Will have delivered 5 technical case studies and/or technical papers demonstrating an innovative approach to solving customer problems and

creating measureable value.

 

Able to carry out complex blast designs and troubleshoot customer concerns.

 

Able to risk assess different blasting approaches.

 

Competent in pre and post blast measurement and assessment techniques in the relevant market segment.

 

Adept at using Orica software tools.

 

Role dimensions

Handles minor incidents.
