About the role
Looking to start a hands-on career with a company that’s big on safety, teamwork, and growth? At Orica’s Deer Park Manufacturing Facility, we’re on the lookout for motivated individual to join us as Plant Operator.
In this role, you’ll be part of the team that keeps our operations running smoothly—operating machinery, monitoring production, and making sure everything is done safely and efficiently. You’ll be working with both fixed and mobile plant equipment to help produce the chemical products used in blasting across mining, quarrying, and infrastructure projects.

What you will be doing
- Producing batches of emulsifier by transferring, mixing and reacting chemicals in bulk reactors (full training provided);
- Ensuring plant areas and equipment are maintained to operational standards;
- Assisting chemists/engineers trial new product/process;
- Transporting loads including using forklift and bulk transfers;
- Conforming to all safety, health and environment procedures.
What you will bring
- A strong commitment to safety as a core value in all aspects of work
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems
- A current forklift licence (highly regarded)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred but not essential)
- Motivation to develop new skills and a willingness to progress into a Control Room Operator role
