About The Role – Production Helper (Coniston ON)
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Production Helper in Coniston ON focused on ensuring production occurs on a timely basis following all safety procedures and taking a pro-active teamwork approach focused on coordinating assigned machine operation and product handling functions.

What you will be doing
Safety, Health & Environment
• Compliance with Safety Charter and immediate reporting of any accidents, injuries or incidents.
• Alerts management immediately about any safety concerns.
• Reports any injuries/accidents immediately.
• Participates in safety activities and training regularly.
• Full understanding of machine operation and awareness of product movement in production.
• Proper use/inspection of all personal protective equipment and safety materials.
• Ensure Proper PPE is worn at all times.
Operations
• Knowledge and ability to run assigned production machines.
• Start up and shut down machines and product moving belts following precautions.
• Operation of machines preparing finished product.
• Understanding control panels, valves, and related monitors.
• Perform quality control checks including reviewing waste materials.
• Unload and preparation of raw materials utilized in production.
• Preventative maintenance greasing schedule including focus parts and process to clean/change all filters.
• Demonstrated ability on lock out/tag out, safety systems and controls.
• Maintenance of Orica’s housekeeping standards always.
• Knowledge of where product should be stored in the plant, inventory tracking and awareness of potential hazards of mixing various elements.
• Operation of Loader and Forklifts.
• Knowledge of what products are compatible, and the maximum load capacity of an Explosive load.
• Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are kept clean inside.
• Ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times.
Teamwork
• Success in pro-actively working in a team environment to ensure efficient operations.
• Aid other team members daily.
• Ability to prioritize ongoing daily tasks, and high priority situations to maximize efficiency with input from various functions of the plant.
• Clear and professional communication with both plant leaders and fellow team members always.
• Participation in plant meetings and training sessions.
What you will bring
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to quickly determine potential issues and problem solve accordingly.
• Requires thorough and meticulous completion of regulatory paperwork.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Flexible to fast changes as needed during production process.
• Entry level computer skills including Internet and Windows applications.
Role dimensions
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: Weekly rotating shifts: (1) Day shift 8a-4p, (2) night shift 12midnight -8am, (3) afternoon shift 4pm-12midnight
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work Environment involves being outside in all types of weather.
• Must be flexible to plant operation demands including work schedules.
• Lifting up to 60 pounds including tools and bags of product.
• Pushing/Pulling in working with equipment.
• Other Activities include frequent standing, bending and squatting with occasional work on knees.
Your qualifications
• High School degree or equivalent work experience with demonstrated ability to read and write the English language.

Compensation – Union Pay Rate
• Union Hourly Pay Rate is $32.93 CAD
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
