About the role
To ensure production occurs on a timely basis following all safety procedures and taking a pro-active teamwork approach focused on coordinating assigned machine operation and product handling functions.
What you will be doing
Safety, Health & Environment:
- Compliance with SHEC Charter and immediate reporting of any accidents, injuries or incidents.
- Alerts management immediately about any safety concerns.
- Reports any injuries/accidents immediately.
- Participates in safety meetings and training regularly.
- Full understanding of machine operation and awareness of product movement in production.
- Proper use / inspection of all personal protective equipment and safety materials.
Operations:
- Knowledge and ability to run assigned production machines, MMU’s.
- Start up and shut down of Plant and MMU’s following procedures.
- Understanding control panels, valves, and related monitors.
- Perform quality control checks including reviewing waste materials.
- Perform calculation amounts and figure time required time to run production recording detailed information consistently.
- Preventative maintenance greasing schedule includes focus parts and process to clean/change all filters.
- Demonstrated ability on lock out/tag out, safety systems and controls.
- Maintenance of Orica’s housekeeping standards at all times.
- Knowledge of where product should be stored in the plant, inventory tracking and awareness of potential hazards of mixing various elements.
- Load and unload MMU’s, Tankers and ISO
- Operation of Loader / Forklift
- Delivery of PKGE product and detonators
- Pump maintenance
- Completion of all documentation required ex: Bulk truck load sheet, QC MMU Quality reports etc....
Driving:
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicles including checking and filling fluid levels.
- Ability to maneuver on the road and on customer property in a safe manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the inside of Orica vehicles at all times.
- In possession of valid license for vehicle and TDG card.
- Familiar with impact and importance of preventive maintenance on all Orica equipment.
Teamwork:
- Success in proactively working in a team environment to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide assistance to other team members on a daily basis.
- Ability to prioritize various projects, ongoing daily tasks, and high priority situations to maximize efficiency with input from various functions of the MMU.
- Clear and professional communication with both Supervisor’s and fellow team members at all times.
- Participation in Site safety meetings and training sessions.
Your qualifications
- Class DZ driver license with a clean driver abstract.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to quickly determine potential issues and problem solve accordingly.
- Requires thorough and meticulous completion of regulatory paperwork.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Flexible to fast changes as needed during the production process.
- Entry level computer skills include Internet and Windows applications.
Physical Requirements
- Work Environment involves being outside in all types of weather.
- Must be flexible to operation demands including work schedules.
- Lifting up to 60 pounds including tools and raw materials
- Carrying 50 pounds or more of products or other materials.
- Pushing/Pulling in working with equipment.
- Other Activities include frequent standing, bending and squatting with occasional work on knees.
