About the role

To manage and oversee the operation of the machinery and equipment within the manufacturing and assembly plant.

 Ensuring the safe and efficient functioning systems, monitoring and controlling performance and quality, and addressing

 the issues or malfunctions that may arise. Ensuring record keeping is up to date.

What you will be doing

  • Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled, and stored according to SDS requirements.
  • Minimizes environmental damage through waste control and reduction.
  • Reports all unusual incidents and accidents immediately.
  • Participates in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
  • Maintains personal training in line with the Orica Training Matrix for the role.
  • Performs other ancillary duties, including relief at other locations, as reasonably instructed by the supervisor.
  • Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production.
  • Notifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance, or performance.
  • Operates within Orica SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) standards.
  • Performs job in accordance with Orica safe working practices and environmental standards.
  • Complies with ANE manufacturing and plant operating procedures.
  • Ensure good housekeeping all the times

What you will bring

  • Experience and license to operate a forklift is an added advantage
  • Self-starter

  • English speaker preferred
  • Knowledge of chemical environment

Your qualifications

  • Grade 12 full certificate
  • Minimum certificate in lab technician, technical courses, chemical engineering, metallurgy or equivalent
