About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Planning Coordinator to join our team in Chambishi, Zambia, with a temporary contract (12 months). This role is responsible for developing and delivering work plans and schedules that optimize efficient maintenance execution and plant uptime. In addition to electrical systems, this position requires strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and installations.

The Coordinator will support the production plant by managing both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities and will work closely with contractors and internal teams across our two plants in Zambia.

What you will be doing

As the Maintenance Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

· Planning and scheduling all maintenance work (online, offline, preventative, predictive, and corrective), including materials, equipment, and labor

· Overseeing both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities on-site

· Performing hands-on work and coordinating with third-party contractors

· Managing and maintaining power generators, transformers, and high-voltage electrical equipment

· Supporting mechanical installations, repairs, and servicing of plant equipment

· Ensuring timely and efficient execution of maintenance plans to minimize downtime

· Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment status

· Reviewing and processing maintenance notifications for quality and priority

· Liaising with subject matter experts to clarify scopes and technical requirements

· Developing and improving a library of maintenance task lists in SAP

· Ensuring closure of work orders and accurate history recording in line with reliability standards

· Supporting the execution of the annual maintenance budget and sourcing contracts with Supply Chain

· Collaborating with the Maintenance Execution Superintendent to ensure cost-effective resource allocation

· Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting reliability programs

· Monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement

· Leading and mentoring planners and schedulers, including training and performance management

· Ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards for maintenance and safety

What you will bring

· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

· Minimum 3 years of experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably in a processing plant environment

· Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installations, and equipment servicing

· Experience with transformers, high-voltage equipment, and power systems

· Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)

· Experience using SAP or similar CMMS platforms

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

· Excellent communication and coordination skills

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

· Blasting license (preferred)

· Availability to travel as required
