About The Role - Strategic Sourcing Lead (Centennial, CO)

 

The Strategic Sourcing Lead will be responsible for managing the company’s sourcing activities for its Indirect Spend category, including its Capital projects.  As a member of Orica’s North American Supply group, the Strategic Sourcing Lead is critical in driving, implementing, and embedding the significant amount of change required to improve functional capability and deliver substantial cost savings. In addition, this role will provide category management for Indirect Spend vendors (e.g. engineering, leasing, on-site services, maintenance, MRO, travel, etc.) while ensuring successful implementation of Global Corporate category initiatives. This role will also act as the central point of contact for strategic projects in the region that require sourcing representation. This role will report to the North American Sourcing and Procurement Manager but liaise with Global Category Managers and Leads and business stakeholders to assist in global implementations and ensure alignment in goals and objectives.

 

This position will require you to travel up to 25% of the time throughout the US, Canada and Mexico.

WORK SCHEDULE - This position will require you to report to the Centennial, CO office at least three days a week.

What you will bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in sourcing and category management with demonstrable ability in negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Expertise in managing engineering sourcing projects, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Experience in handling RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, including drafting, evaluating responses, and selecting suppliers.
  • Excellent ability in preparing and presenting thorough cost evaluations for all sourcing projects and providing award recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and making informed decisions.
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and managing supplier-related information.
  • Experience working with an ERP system (SAP/Ariba competency is a plus).

Your qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management and/or Business-related discipline.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain or relevant field is a plus.

Compensation Range 

  • Full time Salaried position
  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 (USD)
  • Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
