About the role / 34761 - Specialist - Category Management EBS & Webgen (Centennial, CO)

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Category Management Specialist within our North America Group Functions Supply Chain team focused on managing the raw material portfolio of electronic devices, cables, resins and plastics and other components across Orica’s WebGen product category, focussing on commercialized components. This will include collating and maintaining cost analysis for this product group, supporting second sourcing, developing and managing supplier relationships, managing quality concerns with suppliers if any. Includes SAP requirements for the category.

What you will be doing

Safety, Health, Environmental and Security (SHES) 

  • Ensure all activities are conducted at or above the companies standards 
  • Where applicable, ensure suppliers of components are complying with Orica values as it relates safety & environment for products being sourced

 

Contribute to Global Supply – Category Management Activities 

 

Global category strategy 

  • Assist Manager – NPI to formulate and implement a strategy for global diversification of sources of raw materials used in Orica’s WebGen components with a focus on improved quality and cost savings 
  • Regular review of  the formulated strategy with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the achievement of the agreed goals (e.g. elimination of single sourcing, savings etc.) 
  • Tracking of goals set in the signed-off strategy 

 

End-to-end strategic sourcing activities 

  • Market research to identify new sources of raw materials globally 
  • Assist Manager – NPI to bring on new suppliers (through qualification and contract negotiation stages) 
  • Coordinate and lead material/supplier qualification activities with Orica Quality teams globally including logistics, transaction management, influencing stakeholders, expediting testing and management of schedules and communications.   

 

Ongoing Internal Support 

  • Coordinate and maintain cost tracking schedules for components sourced in the Webgen Category  
  • Master Data establishment and maintenance for materials/components​ 
  • Assist Webgen Equipment Centres, specifically relating to Inventory and Order Management to make sure the most efficient process is set up and implemented 
  • Assist Manager – NPI with onging allocations of key components amoungst manufacturing sites 

 

Contribute to Business Partnering 

  • Work closely with members of Category Management team to achieve superior results 
  • Co-ordinate with regional supply teams to ensure clear communication channels and clear understandings of outcomes 
  • Develop stakeholder relationships that ensure confidence in business and project outcomes 
  • Contribute to the profitability of the region by assisting in improvement initiatives in Supply

What you will bring

  • Solid experience with SAP/4S  
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills 
  • Experience engaging with external suppliers  
  • Experience liaising with senior management team members, up to Exco level 
  • Must be bilingual in French and English, since they will interact with French speaking colleagues at the Brownsburg-Chatham Manufacturing site in Quebec, Canada.

Role dimensions

  • Must be open to reporting to the Centennial, CO office at least three days a week 
  • Individual constributor with no direct reports 
  • Key Customers and Stakeholders: Global Supply team, Regional Supply teams, Major Manufacturing site teams, Technology/Manufacturing Technology team

Compensation Range  

  • Between $89,700.00 and $125,580 / year
  • Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan 

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
