About the role - Logistics Coordinator / Analyst (Centennial, CO)

 

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a Logistics Coordinator / Analyst in our North American headquarters in Centennial, Colorado.

This role combines transportation coordination with logistics analytics and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the execution of transportation and distribution activities across North America while leveraging data, reporting, and performance metrics to drive service improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies. The role will work closely with Business Management, Supply Chain, SHE, Transport Carriers, Manufacturing, and Distribution teams.

 

What you will be doing

 

•    Coordinate daily transportation and distribution activities to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective product movement.
•    Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, and network optimization.
•    Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports related to freight costs, carrier performance, on-time delivery, and inventory movements.
•    Support the safety checkpoint audit program to validate third-party carrier safety performance and compliance.
•    Monitor contracted transportation rates, fuel surcharges, and freight spend to ensure accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.
•    Conduct freight audits and investigate transportation cost variances and accessorial charges.
•    Support carrier scorecards and carrier performance reviews using data-driven insights.
•    Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company standards for services delivered to Orica customers.
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation efficiency, customer service, and supply chain performance.
•    Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and third-party providers to execute monthly transportation plans.
•    Support the delivery of Regional Supply Chain Strategy and Breakaway savings initiatives.
•    Assist in preparing for carrier safety conferences and transportation performance reviews.
•    Provide recommendations and reporting to support strategic transportation decisions across North America.

 

What you will bring

 

 

•    Experience with dangerous goods transportation and freight operations is required.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and identify actionable insights.
•    Working knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics operations across the United States and Canada.
•    Experience analyzing freight spend, carrier performance, transportation costs, and service metrics.
•    Proficiency with SAP and transportation management systems.
•    Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.
•    Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and visualization tools is preferred.
•    Knowledge of logistics sourcing strategies, carrier management, and transportation optimization practices.
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to influence decisions using data and operational insights.
•    Experience with Class 1 dangerous goods transportation is considered an asset.
•    Extensive knowledge of bulk transportation equipment is preferred.

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 days in office/2 days remote
  • Travel: 0-25% possible

 

 

Your qualifications

 

 

•    3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution, or logistics analytics.
•    Experience supporting rail and truck transportation networks.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
•    Experience with SAP and logistics reporting tools.
•    Experience creating KPI dashboards, scorecards, and operational performance reports.
•    Experience developing and implementing transportation and product delivery strategies across multiple countries and transportation modes.
•    Demonstrated success building strong carrier and vendor relationships.
•    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple functions.

Compensation

 

  • Salary Range $ 59,475 – 83,265  
  • Eligible for annual short term incentive plan
  • Full time Salaried position  

 

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
