About the role
Our quarries business in South Australia is thriving, and as such we are on the lookout for an energetic and team-focussed Shotfirer join our high performing team in Adelaide, South Australia.
The successful candidate will work on a family friendly Monday – Friday roster with sociable working hours, meaning a return to their families and homes safely each evening.
The SA Quarries team is a medium sized, well-led and tight-knit force. who work as powerful unit and have each other's backs. As a valued member of this team you will assist in providing a quality technical Shotfiring service to our South Australian Quarries & Construction customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. You will be working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, managing all tasks associated with the loading, tying and firing of blasts.
Our Q&C Shotfirers are technical problem solvers, and also charged with the responsibility of leading our crews, training new employees, and managing complicated blast projects for our customers as and when they arise.

What you will be doing
- First and foremost, demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
- Shotfiring duties including Magazine Management, Managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts, following drill and blast designs;
- Providing leadership and direction to the blast crew;
- Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members;
- Working in tight unison with all blast crew teammates to provide an excellence in service to our valued customers;
- At all times acting with integrity and respect.
What you will bring
- A positive team-orientated work ethic;
- A current or recent Australian shotfiring license;
- Experience working as an open-cut shotfirer within mining or quarrying;
- A strong commitment to safety.
