About the role
We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of Site Manager at our Adelaide Quarries Operation in Adelaide, South Australia. Operating on a Monday – Friday Residential Roster, the Site Manager is a critical role pivotal in overseeing Total Load Services & Bulk Delivery Operations to Quarry customers in South Australia, while also providing essential support to other Orica sites within the South Australian Region.
Being single point of contact for Customers / Quarry Managers, Scheduling Blasts and Optimising Resources, driving continuous improvement , and playing a key role in developing safety management plans are just some of the Key duties the Site Manager will perform.
What you will be doing
- Living and breathing Orica's safety values always;
- Scheduling Blasts and coordinating mobilisations for Total Load Services & Down the Hole Services;
- Driving Operational Discipline;
- Live and Breathe Orica's Safety values at all times;
- Lead and motivate a highly skilled team of MMU Operators / Surveyors and Shotfirers;
- Provide analytical/decision support to Territory manager on continuous improvement plan;
- Coordinate logistics of raw materials, equipment, and MMU/MCU / Fitters Operators;
- Ensure operational process meets Orica standards and customer's expectations; and
- Change management, project management, people management, report generation, prep and conduct customer meetings.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of proven experience in an operational leadership role in Drill & Blast
- Knowledge of the explosive’s regulations / industry best practices / shotfiring (essential)
- Qualifications in frontline management and project management (demonstrated)
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite Skills Essential.
- Demonstrated previous experience leading and managing people, assets and customers.
- High developed computer literacy for day-to-day requirements.
- Sound knowledge of the mining industry (desirable)
- Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to effectively lead and train small groups
- Experience in system / process / risk improvements
- Thorough knowledge of Orica Mining Services Operations (preferred)
