About the role

Temporary position
Fixed term contract end date: June 16, 2028

  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of site
  • Answers phone calls and supports visitors
  • Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone
  • Provides information by answering questions and requests
  • Acts as the front-line IT contact for the site
  • Maintains site supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies
  • Acts as the front-line training support for the site
  • Functions as backup for the Logistics team’s Shipping Coordinators
     

What you will be doing

SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT

Ensure that all operations performed in the Supply Chain meet both Orica’s SH&E objectives as well as the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in all companies in which the business operates by:

  • Assist in coordinating internal audits
  • Be part of the Emergency Response Plan for the site managing headcounts

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ensure outstanding level of customer service by:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Handling numerous Learning Management Systems
  • Liaising with vendors to set up training for the site
  • Working closely with the SHES team to understand training needs for all employees
  • Aligning training with the Global Training team
  • Helping staff with IT issues and requests as the site’s front-line IT contact
  • Ordering office supplies (water, coffee, stationary, toner)
  • Ordering clothing 
  • Administration duties for the site
  • Working with IT to help with implementing new processes
  • Help with organizing events and meetings
  • Providing backup coverage for the Logistics team’s Shipping Coordinators, including vacation coverage

 

COMMERCIAL OWNERSHIP

  • Raise purchase requisitions for suppliers
  • Review all supplier invoices to ensure that they meet the purchase order value

 

WORKING TOGETHER

  • Provide support to the Team leader by:
  • Act as the primary contact for emergency situations in manufacturing
  • Communication processes are in place.
  • Reviewing of Logistics invoices from service providers and ensure that they meet the quoted rates and that any abnormal charges are investigated and valid

What you will bring

 

  • At least a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, and inventory control – an asset
  • A thorough understanding of the statutory/regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • SAP knowledge – A plus!
  • Microsoft office 365
  • Multitasking ability

 

Role dimensions

  • Temporary role / Fixed term contract end date: June 16, 2028
  • This position will require to report to the Carseland, AB site 5 days a week.
