About the role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Coordinator – Maintenance Planning, focused on developing and delivering work plans and schedules for Electrical and Instrumentation trades that optimises efficient maintenance execution and plant uptime to support the Product Line on achieving their objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
What you will be doing
More specifically the Coordinator – Maintenance Planning for Electrical & Instrumentation will deliver the following within their responsible Mfg. Centre geography and discipline(s):
- Ensure that safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to within his/her work environment.
- Plan and schedule all maintenance work (online, offline, preventative, predictive and corrective) including its inputs (material, equipment and labour).
- Prepare and issue the weekly maintenance schedule ensuring approval is given by Maintenance Planning Superintendent and Maintenance Execution Superintendent.
- Review and process for (quality and priority) all maintenance notifications daily.
- Liaise with subject matter experts where scopes are unclear, incomplete, outside area of expertise or above a technical threshold.
- Develop and continuously improve a library of maintenance task lists for Electrical & Instrumentation Trades in SAP that facilitates the planning of the work.
- Ensure closure of maintenance work orders and history recording in line with standard set by Reliability.
- Support the execution control of the Product Line(s) annual maintenance budget on behalf of the Maintenance Execution Superintendent.
- Enter into and manage strategic sourcing contracts required to efficiently execute the Manufacturing Centre’s maintenance strategy with support from Supply Chain and Planning.
- Ensure, through collaboration with the Maintenance Execution Superintendent, cost effective maintenance execution resourcing is in place and adjusted to deliver weekly schedule in line with preventative/corrective maintenance and cost requirements.
- Support the reliability improvement agenda through escalation of continuous improvement opportunities to the Reliability and Integrity Teams for consideration (eg. Bad Actors, PM optimisation) .
- Monitor maintenance planning management KPIs (lag and lead) and identify and drive improvement opportunities in collaboration with the Maintenance Planning Superintendent and the Maintenance Execution Superintendent.
- Management of planners and schedulers through engagement and motivation which includes ensuring their training and development, performance management, reward and recognitions etc.
- Ensure compliance reporting (including supporting KPIs) for asset category related corporate and regulatory standards and procedures.

The Coordinator – Maintenance Planning for Electrical & Instrumentation provides the critical service of providing the product line maintenance execution team(s) with fully planned and resourced work schedules to execute. The work schedules delivered ensure routine work from maintenance strategies (set by Reliability and Integrity) are executed to plan while also balancing the priorities of corrective work.
What you will bring
- Electrical and/or Instrumentation Trade qualification(s) and have experience in planning/scheduling within heavy industry.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of Electrical systems, instrumentation , industrial controls/automation systems & safety systems.
- Competent in reading Single line and Loop drawings. Reading P&ID’s will also be valuable.
- Knowledge of SAP or any CMMS applications.

- Planning & scheduling dimension - Creating fully planned & resourced work orders.
- Maintenance strategy execution - Ensuring preventive & predictive maintenance tasks (from reliability / integrity) are scheduled & executed on time.
- Coordination & communication - Liaising between reliability, maintenance execution teams, operations, supply chain & engineering.
- Work management - Managing backlog accuracy, ensuring task lists, BOMs, labour estimates.
- Continuous improvement- Identifying bottlenecks in Planning & scheduling, improving job plans.

Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
