About the role
Location: Flexible across Australia or New Zealand (East Coast preferred) - relocation support available
Work Style: Flexible working arrangements

What you will be doing
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
• Lead the development and execution of the AusPac SHES Health Strategy & Plan
• Advise senior leaders on health risks, compliance, and medical standards
• Represent Orica in global health forums and industry bodies
• Provision of SME advice including on related legal requirements and exposure risk
Program Design & Excellence
• Deliver impactful health programs: fitness for work, medical surveillance, psychosocial risk management, health promotion etc.
• Standardise injury and illness management across the region
• Build robust assurance frameworks and audit tools
• Continue design and set up of service provider model, setting of standards and management against service level agreements
Collaboration & Influence
• Forge strong partnerships with internal teams, health providers, regulators, and industry bodies
• Mentor SHES professionals and occupational health teams
• Champion consistent, high-quality health practices across all sites
• Collaborate with Orica and external partner health, wellbeing, injury management and hazardous agents leads (some joint initiatives).
Operational Oversight
• Provide strategic health leadership across varied environments
• Manage high-value contracts and service agreements
• Travel to sites to stay connected and drive change on the ground
What you will bring
Must-Haves
• 10+ years in occupational health within high-risk industries
• Proven leadership in health strategy, health teams, injury management, and medical surveillance
• Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, health data governance, and medical schemes
• Expertise in respiratory health, industrial disease prevention, and psychosocial risk management
• Accredited Return to Work and Rehabilitation Coordinator
Bonus Skills
• Experience in return-to-work programs and drug & alcohol initiatives
• Occupational hygiene knowledge
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Qualifications
• Registered Health/Medical professional (AHPRA or equivalent)
• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health or related field
• Accredited in Rehabilitation, Audiometry, Spirometry, and D&A
