About the role


We are currently seeking experienced Underground Shotfirers to join our team at the Cadia site in New South Wales. This role operates on a 7/7 rotating roster.

As a key member of our team, you will deliver high-quality shotfiring services in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. You’ll work closely with Blast Operators, overseeing all aspects of blast loading, tying, and firing. Our Shotfirers are not only technical experts but also leaders—mentoring new team members and managing complex blast projects as needed.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead by example in upholding our core value: Safety is our Priority, Always;
  • Perform shotfiring duties including magazine management, blast loading, tying, and firing in accordance with drill and blast designs;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the blast crew;
  • Support the training and development of new team members;
  • Collaborate closely with the blast crew to deliver exceptional service to our clients;
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

What you will bring

 

  • A strong team-oriented mindset;
  • Proven experience as an underground shotfirer;
  • A current NSW Shotfiring Licence or eligibility to transfer from another state;
  • Valid Security Clearance (UHL);
  • A deep commitment to safety and operational excellence.
