About the role


We’re thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to become part of our dynamic team on the iconic Snowy 2.0 Project. This role operates on a 14 days on / 14 days off roster, with all accommodation, meals, and transport provided while on shift. Both FIFO and DIDO options are available to suit your lifestyle.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering technical support and maintenance for Orica’s mobile plant and equipment on site. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly and safely.

What you will be doing

 

  • Assisting Orica site with mobile breakdown support;
  • General servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery;
  • Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations and breakdown maintenance;
  • Assist in the management of a maintenance plan for the equipment at the site;
  • Knowledge and adherence to relevant procedures, statutory requirements and codes (AEC, ADG,MPU, AS2187);
  • Continually reassess risks associated with operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required;
  • Participate in safety programs and promote safe work practice.

What you will bring

 

  • Trade certification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Diesel Fitter or equivalent;
  • Previous experience working on heavy machinery or mobile plant (advantageous);
  • Underground experience highly regarded:
  • A NSW Explosives Security Clearance, or ability to obtain;
  • Auto electrical knowledge is advantageous, but not essential;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer relations and problem-solving skills;
  • Driver’s license required;
  • Self-Motivated worker with a strong attitude to safety and quality of service.
