Today, we’re leading the way in mining and civil blasting through innovation, automation, and a commitment to safety and respect for the lands and waters where we operate.

About the role

We’re excited to announce that we looking for Maintenance Technicians (HcD) to join our expanding NSW Mining Services team. The role will support our customer mining and infrastructure operations across Central West NSW.

You’ll work with Orica’s Hypercharge™ units — specialised mobile plant used to load blast holes — supporting reliability, maintenance, and safe operation of the units on our customer sites. While these units are commonly used underground, we’re open to technicians from a range of industrial or heavy equipment backgrounds.

The role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, offering genuine time at home and a strong overall salary package including an end of year bonus.

We welcome applications from candidates based anywhere in NSW, with company‑supported travel to site along with meals and accomodation.

What you will be doing

  • Maintaining and supporting Orica's Hypercharge™ units on our customer sites;
  • Providing training and advice to the users of the machines - both Orica and customer personnel;
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on mobile and fixed plant;
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults;
  • Working safely and collaboratively in a site‑based environment.

What you'll bring

  • Experience maintaining mobile or fixed plant in mining, industrial, or heavy equipment environments, or;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with exposure to hydraulics and/or electrical systems;
  • Ability to work autonomously at times, organising and planning your own schedules;
  • A practical, safety‑focused mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to complete pre-employment checks inclusing medical assessment and police clearance screening.

Why join Orica?

At Orica, we believe in growing together. You’ll learn from experienced mentors, work in a team that values respect for people and the land, and build a career in a safe, supportive environment.

We offer great pay, hands-on training, and opportunities to thrive in a culture that celebrates diversity and collaboration.
