About the role
We are delighted to call for applications from suitably experienced and skilled people for the Underground Site Supervisor based at Peak Gold, Cobar in NSW.
No two days are the same in the lives of our Site Supervisors, therefore adaptability, a cool head under pressure, an ability to prioritise tasks, and provide superb levels of customer service are key to their success.
You will be responsible for leading and motivating onsite teams of talented Blasting professionals, to ensure safe and efficient delivery of services on our customer site. You will also be required to actively manage safety including SHES programs.
The roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off (day shift only), and excellent salary package and conditions, with accommodation and meals on shift.
Preference will be given to those who currently reside within the Cobar region, within DIDO distance, or those willing to permanently relocate to Cobar.
What you will be doing
- Scheduling the onsite teams’ daily activities to meet customer requirements and to ensure sound management of the site including raw material ordering and preventative maintenance;
- Providing analytical/decision-making support to the Territory Manager on continuous improvement planning to decrease operational costs;
- Recruiting, training and retaining employees; and
- Auditing and inspecting site operations to ensure regulatory requirements are met and are performed safely in accordance with company policies.
What you will bring
- Most importantly, championing our most important value - Safety is the priority, always;
- Previous underground mining experience;
- Knowledge and/or experience in blasting;
- Demonstrated previous experience leading and managing people, assets and customers;
- High developed computer literacy for day-to-day requirements;
- Mechanical experience would be highly regarded;
- A NSW Dangerous Goods licence or the ability to obtain one; and
- The ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol.
