About the role

As our Integrated Extraction Simulator (IES) product continues to experience strong market growth, we are looking for a passionate Metallurgical Specialist to join our Brisbane-based Technical Services Team.

 

As a IES Senior Metallurgical Specialist, you will lead technical engagements with customers, leveraging data analytics and advanced modelling techniques to optimise mineral processing operations. You will play a key role in helping our clients optimise their mining and processing value chains. You’ll use advanced simulation tools to develop, configure, and optimise flowsheets for a variety of applications including greenfield concentrator design, debottlenecking existing plants, circuit improvements, life-of-asset scenario planning, and Mine-to-Mill decision support.

 

You will work closely with clients to understand their challenges, analyse data, and deliver tailored solutions that drive efficiency and sustainability. This role also presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the IES software platform, including innovations in data analytics and machine learning.

What you will be doing

  • Leading customer engagements, understanding challenges and designing custom solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Developing data-driven models using advanced analytical techniques to optimise processing workflows.
  • Overseeing project execution, ensuring deliverables are met within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to identify and pursue emerging technology opportunities.
  • Managing technical solution design, reviewing ore characterisation, flowsheets, and simulation models.
  • Mentoring junior modellers and contribute to continuous innovation in processing technologies.
  • Providing expert analysis of mining and processing data, integrating new insights into technical recommendations.
  • Guiding software development efforts in data analytics and machine learning to improve predictive modelling capabilities.

What you will bring

  • Degree qualifications in metallurgy, mineral processing, or chemical engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in processing, with at least 4 years in modelling and simulation.
  • Expertise in data analysis, ore characterisation, and flowsheet development.
  • Strong understanding of plant efficiencies, optimisation strategies, and mineral processing.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, helping customers achieve operational excellence.
  • Passion for technology-driven solutions, with an interest in machine learning and predictive analytics.
