About the role

Orica GroundProbe has an opening for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer role, based at its Windsor site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, security, and operational management of GroundProbe’s software delivery platforms, cloud infrastructure, and deployment automation frameworks.

This role oversees the CI/CD ecosystem and related build systems, while also expanding into securing cloud deployments, driving infrastructure automation, and ensuring platform reliability across development, testing, and production environments.

A key aspect of the position is embedding security throughout the entire software development lifecycle (DevSecOps), promoting secure-by-design practices, managing vulnerabilities, and supporting ongoing compliance improvements. The role works closely with Software Engineering, ICT, and site teams to enable reliable customer deployments across both cloud and on-premise environments, and contributes to the organisation’s transition toward ISO 27001 certification by implementing appropriate controls, governance processes, and documentation.

Overall, the Senior DevSecOps Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that GroundProbe’s platforms are scalable, secure, compliant, and operationally resilient.

What you will be doing

The role is responsible for owning and maintaining GroundProbe’s CI/CD platforms and build systems, ensuring the efficient delivery of all software products. It involves designing, administering, and optimizing cloud environments across development, testing, staging, and production, while implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation to enable secure and repeatable deployments. The position also ensures high availability, resilience, monitoring, and observability across platforms, embedding robust security practices throughout the software development lifecycle—including secure configuration, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and pipeline security.

In addition, the role leads cloud governance initiatives such as access control, network segmentation, and least-privilege implementation, while supporting customer deployments through close collaboration with site ICT teams. It contributes to ISO 27001 certification efforts by implementing security controls, participating in risk assessments, and maintaining relevant documentation to strengthen compliance. The position also focuses on simplifying complex build and deployment systems, providing expert DevSecOps guidance, leading incident response and root cause analysis, and continuously improving platforms by aligning with emerging DevOps, cloud, and cybersecurity trends to ensure quality, security, and reliability standards are consistently met.

What you will bring

• University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline 
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a commercial environment 
• Advanced experience managing CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins or equivalent) 
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation or similar)
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes highly regarded)
• Experience with Linux systems administration and virtualisation technologies
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, etc.) 
• Identity and access management concepts (RBAC, least privilege)
• Experience with secure network configuration and cloud security controls
• Experience supporting on-premise and hybrid deployments
• Experience supporting ISO27001 or similar security frameworks highly regarded
• Experience managing firmware build systems (STM32 / embedded) advantageous
• Familiarity with C# / C++
• Strong documentation and technical writing capability
