About the role
We're excited to be recruiting a Senior Advisor – Industrial Relations to join our Australia Pacific People & Culture team, based in Brisbane or Kurri Kurri.
In this impactful role, you'll partner with the Senior Manager – People & Culture and leaders across the business to deliver enterprise bargaining, industrial compliance, workforce analysis, and negotiation outcomes across a diverse industrial environment. With multiple Enterprise Agreements in play, you'll help shape practical solutions that balance employee, operational, and business needs.
This role suits an experienced IR professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, navigating complex stakeholder environments, analysing data, and influencing outcomes that support to drive long-term business success.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where your expertise will shape workforce outcomes, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and help drive the future of Industrial Relations across Orica's Australia Pacific operations.
What you will be doing
- Support Enterprise Agreement negotiations, implementation and ongoing agreement management;
- Prepare bargaining negotiation plans, facilitate steering committees, and stakeholder engagement activities;
- Conduct workforce modelling, cost analysis, benchmarking and BOOT assessments;
- Provide expert advice on the Fair Work Act, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial legislation;
- Build productive relationships with unions, employee representatives and operational leaders;
- Support industrial disputes, bargaining activities and Fair Work Commission matters;
- Identify industrial risks and deliver commercially sound recommendations;
- Contribute to compliance, governance and continuous improvement initiatives across AusPac.
What you will bring
- Proven Industrial Relations experience in manufacturing, mining, resources, utilities or similarly unionised environments;
- Experience supporting Enterprise Agreement bargaining and negotiations;
- Strong capability in workforce modelling, costing, benchmarking and other relevant assessments;
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills;
- Strong understanding of Industrial Relations legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements;
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills;
- Commercial acumen with the ability to balance people, operational and business outcomes;
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and confidence operating in complex industrial environments.
