About the role
We are seeking an experienced Manager Maintenance Execution to lead the safe, disciplined and efficient execution of maintenance activities across our Mining Services asset base in AusPac.
The role can be based in either Brisbane, QLD or Kurri Kurri, NSW, and will require regular travel across AusPac sites to provide visible leadership, support field execution, and engage with operational stakeholders.
This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring maintenance work is executed safely, consistently and efficiently across multiple sites and asset types.
You will lead maintenance execution teams and contractors, ensure approved maintenance strategies are delivered in the field, and drive continuous improvement to reduce unplanned work, rework and maintenance costs. The role is a key part of Orica’s Engineering & Assets operating model and plays a critical role in asset availability, reliability and compliance.
What you will be doing
- Lead the safe execution of all maintenance activities in line with Orica SH&E requirements and statutory obligations;
- Ensure planned and unplanned maintenance is executed to approved scopes, standards and quality expectations;
- Lead effective responses to breakdowns and emergent maintenance to minimise operational disruption;
- Build and lead capable maintenance teams, including supervisors and contractors, with a strong safety first culture;
- Own maintenance execution cost performance, driving sustained reductions in repairs and maintenance (R&M) spend;
- Reduce unplanned and reactive maintenance through improved execution discipline and first time right maintenance;
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Asset Excellence teams;
- Use maintenance data, insights and systems to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities;
- Support the adoption of digital tools and data driven maintenance practice.
What you will bring
- 10+ years’ experience in maintenance roles within mining, mining services, heavy industry or similar environments;
- A trade background (mechanical, electrical or equivalent);
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams, supervisors and contractors;
- Strong understanding of maintenance execution, asset reliability and regulatory requirements;
- Demonstrated ability to manage large maintenance budgets and drive cost discipline;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across operations, engineering and commercial teams;
- A leadership style that emphasises safety, accountability and execution excellence.
