About the role

 

GroundProbe is seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to join our Global Head Office in Windsor, Brisbane, working Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:30) in a supportive and inclusive environment.

 

This role offers the opportunity to learn assembly across our entire product range. You will be working in a small team and technically supported by a leading hand. You will be part of our production team, charged with building and assembling radars which are used across the globe in some of the world's most iconic and largest mining and infrastructure projects. GroundProbe’s products perform safety critical monitoring in mines and high levels of accuracy and quality are key to this role.  It requires strong assembly skills using minor hand tools, need to perform quality check points; reporting and repairing component parts for return to the inventory system.

What you will be doing

 

  • Completing all assigned production related tasks, safely, accurately, efficiently with a focus of quality.  These tasks are to be completed in accordance with the production standards presented by the Company.
  • Completing equipment shipment preparation tasks as directed.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement discussions, helping enhance production processes and lean management implementation.
  • Performing formal testing and sign-off processes, ensuring precision and reliability.
  • Progressing through the skills matrix, providing career growth, improved competency across the product suite, and learning opportunities.
  • Assisting Engineering and Project Managers in implementing new products.
  • Sharing feedback and ideas with the Manufacturing Centre Manager to improve workflows.

What you will bring

 

  • 3+ years of experience in production, assembly, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience in assembly, technical problem-solving, or working with tools.
  • Prior mechanical or electrical experience (formal qualifications welcome but not essential).
  • Ability to read schematics and drawings and document processes accurately.
  • Proficiency in using electric and mechanical tools in a structured setting.
