About the role

The Manager - SHES manages a specialist team that drives a continuous improvement approach to assuring compliance with workplace health, safety, environment and industry standards, and reducing the risk of major incidents occurring at the Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area.

What you will be doing

  • Ensures Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area licence to operate continuity by assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and nominated industry standards.
  • Verifies and ensures compliance with Orica Group Safety, Health and Environment Policy, and applicable Group standards and procedures, and implement continuous improvement programs to address findings.
  • Ensures the readiness of an emergency response team for scenarios up to and including Enterprise Level Risk events, ensures business continuity planning is maintained, and coordinates with the Corporate Crisis Management Teams to assure they are ready for Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area crises.
  • Drives programs that improve behavioural compliance with core SHES requirements through the full implementation of behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Supports the development and continuous improvement of clear guidance for Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area teams to maintain compliance with workplace health, safety, environment and industry standards, and reducing the risk of major incidents.
  • Ensures rigorous incident reporting and investigation systems and processes are implemented across the Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area, identifying direct and root causes, and support identification and tracking of corrective actions that address root causes.
  • Ensures Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area security infrastructure and personnel are in place and effective.
  • Maintains Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area legal compliance database.
  • Oversees identification and execution of improvement projects related to Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area SHES performance.
  • Continuously improves working relationships and organisational stature between Mfg. Centre or Sub-Regional Area and regulators through engagement programs.
  • Maintains implementation of ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001, and SMK3

  • Drive SHE program to support safe and success Yearly Outage and 4 Yearly Turnaround.

  • Drive environment program for Environmental Awards through PROPERDA (East Kalimantan Province) and PROPERNAS (National)

     

What you will bring

  • Graduate from Engineering, Safety or relevant background with minimum 8 years’ experience post professional qualification, including 5 years of direct people management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, including building a collaborative approach in the development of the direction and operations of the workstream.
  • Proven influencer, able to manage processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives would be desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills associated with building strong vendor &/or customer relationships
  • Financial accumen & budgeting experience.
  • Good understanding of implementation of Bontang Manufacturing Safety Management system (Personal Safety, Health, Environment, and Process Safety) and process safety  experience in manufacturing plants.
  • Good understanding of national regulation and international standards which relevant with Bontang manufacturing facility associated with general or specific safety requirements.
