About the role
We're looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and help deliver top-notch bulk explosive services to our customers as a Bench Assistant/ Blast Operations Assistant based in Kansanshi.
Safety and environmental consciousness are our top priorities, and we need someone who shares our commitment.
In this role, you'll work closely with our expert Shotfirers and On- Bench Supervisors on-site, taking on exciting tasks like loading, tying, and firing blasts.

What you will be doing
Support the Shotfirer in preparing for blasts, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are ready.
Accurately measure drill holes to ensure they meet the required specifications for explosive loading.
Work closely with Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMUs) to ensure the efficient delivery and handling of bulk explosives.
Safely prime and load bulk explosives into drill holes, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
Help the Shotfirer with the setup and handling of explosives accessories, such as detonators and fuses.
Ensure the site is clean and safe after each blast, removing any debris and securing the area.
Prepare designated areas for reloading trucks, including setting up temporary fencing to ensure safety.
Report any incidents or unsafe behaviors promptly to maintain a safe working environment.
Engage in Tool Box Talks (TBTs) and safety meetings to stay informed about safety practices and updates.
Safely handle and transport explosives, adhering to all regulatory and company safety standards.
Organize and prepare reloading areas to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Operate additional equipment as needed to support blasting operations and site activities.
What you will bring
2- 5 years Heavy industry preferably mining experience
Applicable drivers licence (DG/HR, forklift, bobcat)
