About the role

 

We are excited to announce an opening for a talented Bench Assistant - Open Cut. This role involves assisting with the safe and environmentally conscious delivery of bulk explosives to our customers. You will work closely with the Shotfirer or On Bench Supervisors on site, performing tasks related to loading, tying, and firing blasts. The position is based at the Bozshakol Mine Site and reports to the Site Supervisor.

What you will be doing

 

  • Ensure the safety and protection of self, fellow employees, customers, the public and the environment, with the aim of delivering the operational services to the volume, service type and quality specified by client expectations;
  • Report all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately;
  • Participate in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings;
  • Undertake all and any necessary training for Operations, SHEC and site specific requirements;
  • Maintain all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role.

  • Proficiency in handling and operating equipment related to loading, tying, and firing blasts;
  • Ability to work effectively with the Shotfirer, On Bench Supervisors, and other team members;
  • Precision in executing tasks to ensure quality service and compliance with environmental standards;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and tasks on-site.
