About The Role – 29343 - Safety Advisor (Midwest / Southwest region)

The Safety Advisor provides partnering support to enable excellence in Safety, Healthy, Environment and Security (SHES) culture and performance through effective major hazards and critical control management, systems, standards and governance. This position holds the key accountability for a US program managing Worker's Comp and OCC Health and will be responsible to serve the US Mid-West/South-West Region.

What you will be doing


•    Supports delivery of SHES activities across business and/or sites.
•    Implement, support of SHES procedures & system across site(s)
•    Develop & Deliver safety materials for site(s)
•    Participate in assurance activities (audits and assessments)
•    Lead and participate in incident investigations
•    Assist with administration & use of Enablon, Change Management system, CARE scoring system, Job Safety Analysis and Job Hazard Analysis
•    Provide day to day SHES support to site (s) or business
•    Install workplace hazard management 
•    Install & support regulatory programs
•    Demonstrate a proactive approach towards the implementation & support of Orica SHES Plans. 
•    Provide technical support to business / site(s) on SHES matters  
•    Support rollout of SHES & regulatory related training at a business /site level.
•    Support business leaders on customer SHES requirements and issues
•    Interact and support business leaders 

 

Travel – 50 – 75% throughout assigned multi-state region by flight or company vehicle.

What you will bring

•    Relevant experience in the mining industry is a plus.

•    Computer system SAP, Microsoft Office and 365 

•    Experience with Enablon is a plus, will train you

•    Sound knowledge of major hazards and key controls management, incident reporting (incl report writing) and investigation (Basic, 5Y, ICAM etc.)

•    Effective analytical, written and verbal communication skills. 

•    Ability to build relationships, engage and influence a diverse group of stakeholders.

•    Knowledge of applicable regulations.

•    Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character.

•    Ability to build the trust with others.

•    A comprehensive knowledge in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Worker’s Compensation, Occupational Case Management, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety Management, MSHA, OSHA, and Investigative Safety Processes or related disciplines.

Your qualifications

•    3-5 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health & Environment or related discipline – Preferred
•    Or must possess a Safety Certificate – Certified safety professional, Assoc Safety Professional or Certified Safety Manager

Compensation 

•    Full Time Salary
•    Annual Salary Range $79,400 - $98,000
•    Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
