About The Role – 33577 - SPECIALIST ENGINEER - ROTATING EQUIPMENT

 

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a Specialist Engineer - Rotating Equipment within our Specialist Asset Integrity team focused on maintaining and optimising our rotating equipment assets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of our machinery across our global manufacturing sites.
Orica's centralised Specialist Asset Integrity team is essential to our business. This team of Engineering Specialists ensures the longevity, reliability, and safety of assets and equipment across our global manufacturing facilities.  They solve complex issues, monitor and maintain assets throughout their lifecycle.

What you will be doing

 

•    Providing technical leadership across rotating machinery, life cycle analysis, and turnaround support.
•    Collaborating with cross-functional asset management teams to drive continuous improvement and optimise value.
•    Applying engineering insights to reduce risk, extend asset life, and enhance system integrity.
•    Guiding industry benchmarking and innovation in safety-critical turbomachinery and pressure equipment.
•    Leading and contributing to Communities of Practice and functional safety activities (LOPAs, HAZOPs).

What you will bring

 

•    A degree in mechanical engineering (or similar) and over 7 years industry experience.
•    At least 4 years hands-on expertise with rotating equipment in continuous manufacturing settings
•    Proven ability to analyse and improve performance, manage asset lifecycles, and work across projects, maintenance, and operations
•    Familiarity with ISO/API standards, NDE methods, steam turbines, compressors, dynamic balancing, and vibration/lube oil/thermographic analysis
•    Leadership, mentoring, and clear communication skills to support and engage with diverse engineering teams

Role dimensions

 

•    This role will require you to travel 25 – 33%, based on the location of the selected candidate
•    You can expect to travel one week per month, throughout the Europe, Germany, Italy, United States and Canada
•    When not traveling, you will be expected to report to an Orica office at least three days a week, if an Orica office is located near your home location.
