About the role

We are seeking an experienced SHES Specialist to join our dedicated team in Aljustrel. SHES stands for Safety, Health, Environment, and Security, and this role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in these areas.
As a SHES Specialist, you will actively support the implementation and execution of SHES programs and processes across our operations. You will monitor legal and regulatory requirements, conduct investigations, and develop appropriate responses. Additionally, you will manage the SHES Coordinator on site and collaborate with the broader EMEA SHES team to align practices and standards.
This role also includes coordinating and delivering SHES training sessions to ensure our workforce operates safely and responsibly.

What you will be doing

• Implement and embed SHES processes and programs in daily operations.
• Monitor compliance with Portuguese legislation and regulatory requirements related to safety, health, environment, and security.
• Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Manage the SHES Coordinator on site and provide guidance to ensure best practices.
• Deliver SHES training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Collaborate with regional SHES teams to share knowledge and align standards.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in SHES performance.

What you will bring

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Practical experience in SHES management, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience in risk management and security systems.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
