About the role
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join our team as an Advisor – SHES. The Advisor – SHES plays a critical role in providing expert guidance and advice on Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) activities within the Orica Plant at Endeavour’s Sabodala Mine site in Senegal.
In this role, you will lead SHES initiatives across Orica’s operations in Senegal and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. You will also drive risk management, foster continuous improvement, and engage stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.

What you will be doing
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHES management systems and processes.
- Provide technical advice and day-to-day SHES support to site and business leaders, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, audits, and emergency management activities while driving risk mitigation initiatives.
- Deliver SHES-related training programs and engage stakeholders to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
- Support contractor management, maintain site security rules, and assist with the administration of SHES tools and processes.
What you will bring
- 3–5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental roles, with a Safety Certificate or a degree in Safety, Health & Environment preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse groups.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
- Effective analytical, written, and verbal communication skills combined with resilience, flexibility, and adaptability.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and personal values, acting as a visible and engaged leader in the field.
- Proficiency in English and French, with knowledge of risk management, incident investigation, audits (ISO standards), emergency response, and SHES tools such as Enablon.
