The Sourcing Manager is a strategic role accountable for managing the end-to-end sourcing process for the assigned categories. The role acts as an active influencer to foster a safety culture and actively promotes Orica’s Charter Values and the Operating Model.

The role plays an integral part of the Global Procurement team, and will work very closely with the regional teams and a broad range of internal stakeholders (finance, marketing, commercial, amongst others) to identify commercial opportunities that align with the Category Plan and Global Supply Chain Strategy. The Sourcing Manager is pivotal in implementing best practices and simplifying processes with proper governance and risk management and ensuring sustainable value creation.

Within the Global Supply Chain Hub, the Sourcing Manager will be a sourcing expert with the capability to support cross-category sourcing, providing expertise, positively challenging and actively providing coaching to support capability development across the team. Day-to-day, you will be managing end-to-end sourcing projects for the defined category, structure, implement and manage best in class governance protocols to ensure compliance.

As part of stakeholder management, the role requires effective communication, to drive a collaborative culture, change management, conflict resolution and positive influencing at all levels. You will be exposed to senior engagements both internally and externally where a demonstrated strategic and risk management approach should prevail.

The Sourcing Manager may have direct reports, and will have excellent management and interpersonal skills necessary to lead a high performing team.

  • Degree qualified
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications a plus
  • Experience in procurement with a solid record in sourcing/category management
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficiency in English (second language – Spanish a plus as there may be some liaison with LATAM)
  • Knowledge of contract law
  • Project management experience
  • Strong focus on governance and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of best in class sourcing practices
